Book Review: The Curse Breakers (Curse Keepers Series Book 2) by Denise Grover Swank

The Curse Breakers (The Curse Keeper, #2)The Curse Breakers by Denise Grover Swank

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thought the first book in this series was great. This one? Even better. You’ve still got the totally intriguing plot based on the Lost Colony of Roanoke with the author’s own unique twist, now with the added complication of a second romantic interest for Ellie. The author uses both to keep you totally drawn into the story-I had a really hard time putting this down (and was up way past my bedtime…again).

Even with Collin’s rough-around-the-edges character, you still are wanting him to be the one for Ellie…even if the whole situation came about because of his actions. And then there’s David, who’s totally swoon-worthy in his own right and able to help Ellie with his own knowledge and researching. And it’s great to see Ellie’s character growing and learning. All of them together-along with the still strong cast of secondary characters-keep you riveted to the story and impatiently waiting for the next book to arrive.

The writing is still as good as the first book…the characters grow even richer and more rounded out…and the totally unique plot all contribute to this wonderful series that no paranormal book lover should miss.

Still 18+ for the steamy scenes…and be advised this is still part of a series so you’ll want to read The Curse Keepers first-and know there’s more to come after this one. 5 out of 5 stars for this excellent continuation of the series.
